The show revolved around former San Francisco Police Department (SFPD) Chief of Detectives Robert T. Ironside (Raymond Burr), a veteran of more than twenty years of police service who was forced to retire from the department after a sniper’s bullet paralyzed him from the waist down and forced him to use a wheelchair.

Here’s Lucy is Lucille Ball’s third network television sitcom. It ran on CBS from 1968 to 1974. Though The Lucy Show was still hugely popular during the previous (1967-68) season, finishing in the top five of the Nielsen Ratings (at #2), Ball opted to end that series at the end of that season and create a new show, as she had just sold Desilu Productions (which owned and produced The Lucy Show), to Gulf + Western.

The Flip Wilson Show is a variety show that aired in the U.S. on NBC from September 17, 1970 to June 27, 1974. The show starred American comedian Flip Wilson; the program was one of the first American television programs starring a black person in the title role to become highly successful with a white audience. Specifically, it was the first successful network variety series starring an African American.[1] During its first two seasons, its Nielsen ratings made it the nation’s second most watched show.

The show consisted of many skits over an hour. It also broke new ground in American television by using a ‘Theatre-in-the-Round’ stage format, with the audience seated on all sides of a circular performance area (with some seats located behind the sketch sets on occasion).
